RSVP’s Enid Mobile Meals is working tirelessly to help the homebound throughout our community making sure those in need are not forgotten. Our team continues to monitor and reach out to our most vulnerable clients, ensuring they have what they need during this time.

This time is probably the most important time we’ve ever delivered meals. It’s a time of uncertainty for Enid Mobile Meals as we seek to make sure the food we deliver to seniors and those with disabilities is a constant.

Our utmost priority is to deliver hot, nutritious meals, pantry food and personal interaction, which right now consists of making sure we see them, and making sure they're safe while also ensuring the health and safety of all parties involved. As we face uncertain times, we are adjusting to the ever changing situation and working diligently to make sure our homebound neighbors remain cared for and in the safest way possible. We have implemented many steps in order to limit our contact with picking up and dropping off the meals.

Most of our clients are already isolated, so they're not being exposed, which is a good thing, in this case. The reality for people is, if our homebound seniors don’t get meals at home, their nutrition isn’t going to be where it needs to be in order to stay healthy.

Enid Mobile Meals and the Senior Center feed 160 people each day by delivering hot meals to their homes or by curbside pick-up. It’s a number already starting to rise as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

We’re prepared to see an increase in individuals considering Mobile Meals as a service, which is available to them, so they won’t have to experience undue exposure.

Those we serve are the population at a higher risk for COVID-19, but so many of our volunteers are also seniors, seniors serving seniors. Anyone who would like to volunteer during this time and help “fill-in” when needed, we could definitely use your help. We hope that the healthy people working from home can step up and help out during this time.

If you want to volunteer, visit RSVP of Enid’s website to fill out a volunteer application or call our office at 580-233-5914.

If you want to donate to help with our emergency funding that assists seniors in need call our office at 580-233-5914 or donate online at www.rsvpenid.org.

Important Message for our RSVP Enid Mobile Meals Recipients, Senior Center Members, Staff and Volunteers:

The health and safety of all who participate in the Enid Mobile Meals program and all who enter the doors of the RSVP Senior Center is one of our highest priorities. As the global outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we are closely monitoring the situation. In addition to our own planning, we are following the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control, the Oklahoma Department of Health and the Garfield County Health Department. Below is the latest information from RSVP related to Coronavirus.

What is Coronavirus?

According to the CDC, the novel coronavirus is part of a large family of viruses common in people and many different species of animals. The virus causes a respiratory illness, called COVID-19, and can spread from person to person. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure and include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Read more from the CDC. Visit the Oklahoma Department of Health for the latest information issued by the county.

What is RSVP doing to prevent Coronavirus?

Our staff is working to ensure even more thorough cleaning and even greater vigilance in disinfecting high-touch items such as tables and the kitchen area, office equipment and high-traffic areas such as handrails, bathrooms and doorknobs. The hospitals and our staff are taking appropriate actions in preparing the food each day, and we encourage our staff and volunteers to have more frequent handwashing breaks. We have increased signage throughout our building to build awareness and adherence to general illness prevention guidelines.
